Bobby’s Legacy
Forever 35. Forever loved.
Born on 7th November 1989, Preston born and bred from Deepdale, Bobby was truly one of a kind. A real-life Del Boy, always grafting, always chasing the next idea, full of charm, hustle and big dreams. Life was never something he took too seriously, and anyone who knew him will remember the way he could walk into a room and somehow fill all of it.
Within minutes Bobby could turn any frown around. He had that rare gift of making people laugh, making people feel seen, and lighting up the room with his infectious energy and that famous “turkey teeth” smile.
The football that shaped him
One of Bobby’s biggest loves in life was football. He was probably the only man alive who could genuinely support two teams with his whole chest: Preston North End and Liverpool.
Football wasn’t just a hobby to him. It was part of who he was. One of his proudest memories was seeing Liverpool become 20-time champions, celebrating in Liverpool surrounded by fans and soaking up every second of a moment he’d waited years for.
And wherever Bobby went, football followed. He could walk into any room, in any country, and somehow always find someone to talk football with. Within minutes he’d be deep in debate, laughing, winding people up, or talking like he was on Sky Sports. It used to drive Danielle mad, but she loved him for it.
Bobby was Preston North End through and through, Preston born and bred with Deepdale in his blood. He held a season ticket for most of his life and matchdays were a tradition, turning up regularly with his brothers and backing the team through every high and low.
They’d always get there early, reliving the glory days, talking legendary players, and soaking up the atmosphere before kick off. For Bobby, it was never just about the football. It was family, routine, and a love for home that ran as deep as Deepdale itself.
His love of football connected him to so many people, even Blackpool fans, Preston’s biggest rivals.
The bond with John
Football also created one of Bobby’s most special bonds, the one he shared with his father-in-law John.
John was a lifelong Manchester United fan. Bobby was Liverpool through and through. Two rival teams, yet the banter between them never stopped and underneath it was a genuine friendship and a bond that only grew stronger. John wasn’t just his father-in-law. He was one of Bobby’s best mates.
The part of Bobby that mattered most
But while Bobby loved football, laughs and living life on his own terms, there was one thing he took more seriously than anything else.
Family.
His wife Danielle, his four beautiful children Theo, Matilda, Darcy and Darla, and his niece Betsy, who he helped raise from the age of one alongside Danielle and her family, were his entire world.
Bobby also leaves behind his parents and step mum, his five brothers and only sister, and his three nephews and niece. He was deeply loved, and his loss has been felt across an entire family.
Everything Bobby did, every sacrifice he made, every hour he worked, was for them.
He was the definition of selfless. A man with a heart of gold, even if he’d laugh at the irony of saying it. Generous beyond words, Bobby would give you his last pound if you needed it. No matter what was going on in his own life, he always put everyone else before himself.
He was the kind of person who would drop everything to help someone. Doing anything for anyone, without ever expecting anything back.
Bobby the man
Bobby was loved everywhere he went. His charm was impossible to ignore. Even with his cocky personality, cheeky insults and stubborn streak, people knew it always came from a good place.
He was fierce, strong-minded and independent. He carried his own troubles quietly, but he never gave up and never wore a victim mentality. Bobby faced life head on.
Bobby & Danielle
In April 2015, Bobby met his soulmate, Danielle.
What started fast quickly became a whirlwind romance, but from day one it was solid. No matter the ups and downs, the chaos, the challenges or the hard times, they were always each other’s ride or die.
By December 2015 they were engaged, and by January 2016 they were expecting their beautiful daughter Matilda, who arrived in September that year.
Their relationship was never perfect. They were chaos. They were a storm at times. But they were always them.
Through every high and low, one thing never changed, the love they had for each other.
After a rollercoaster few years, they married in December 2022. Then in 2023, life surprised them once again when they discovered they were expecting not one, but two babies. In 2024 they welcomed their beautiful twins, Darcy and Darla, completing the family Bobby adored more than anything in this world.
The last trip
In August 2025, Bobby and Danielle celebrated ten years together with a special trip to Sorrento, Italy. Memories that will now be treasured forever.
But only weeks later, in September 2025, tragedy struck when Bobby sadly lost his life to a sudden cardiac arrest caused by an undiagnosed underlying heart condition, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM).
And from there, the rest is a heartbreak story.
But Bobby’s story does not end there . . .
Bobby’s memory, his laugh, his stories, his huge smile and his genuine personality will live on through every single person lucky enough to know him.
Most of all, his story will live on through Danielle and their children.
As Bobby said himself in his wedding vows:
“We are not perfect, but we are perfect for each other.”
And that love story, loud, chaotic, loyal and real, will live on forever.
Bobby was a much loved Husband, Daddy, Brother, Son, Friend and Hero.
